The better the linking site, the better the link.
The link popularity of the linking page is probably the most important factor when deciding on a link.
If that page has a PageRank of 7 then it’s going to pass on better “link juice” than a page with a PageRank of 5. Same logic applies to a site with 10,000 inbound links compared to a site with 400 inbound links.
Of course, obtaining quality inbound links should always be for potential traffic first but added weight for quality can add many benefits.
