The client required our help to re-flow the information on their old site into a WordPress one and move from Windows to Apache web hosting. What we mean is that we had to move the existing WordPress site from one type of web hosting to another, which is not always straightforward. It’s like moving a winery from France to Australia. Same product, different environment.
Being computer-proficient, they loved how easy it was to update but needed our expertise to work with the hosting company and set up a development site on a sub-domain while the current website stayed active.
We worked with Shaw to move the site from their Windows server to Apache (which WordPress prefers) then moved all the content over. We also helped to add a Flash element on the Home page.
With a few technical glitches, we managed to make the new site live without interruption to service.
